Modern Italian restaurant in Copenhagen City Centre
The Market Italian is an Italian restaurant on Kristen Bernikows Gade in the city centre. The first thing that meets you is the open kitchen in the middle of the room, where the pasta is rolled and the plates are arranged in front of you. That is the heart of the place: a contemporary Italian kitchen that does not hide away, but lays the craft out in the open and fills the room with aroma, sound and an open warmth.
An open, modern Italian kitchen
The kitchen works with good ingredients and a curious take on the Italian. The classics are treated with respect, but there is also room for a more modern move and dishes that surprise a little.
The pasta is homemade, and because the kitchen is open, the food becomes part of the experience rather than something carried in from a closed room out back.
Food made for sharing
Most of what is on the menu is meant to be passed around the table. Choose the large sharing menu and taste your way together through antipasti, pasta and mains, or set your own table à la carte.
The idea is the same: food that gathers the table rather than dividing it up.
From lunch to late weekends
We are open from lunch until late. In the middle of the day we serve a set lunch menu that suits a break or a company lunch. In the evening the room changes character, the lights come down, and at the weekend it runs longer than planned.
You can come by for anything from a quick plate to the long dinner.
Groups & Parties
At The Market Italian, the menu is created for sharing. Parties are welcome and can choose from our menus-to-share, which are served to parties of over 8 people.
