An evening at The Market Italian

In the evening The Market Italian shifts gear. The lights come down, the open kitchen glows in the middle of the room, and the food, taking shape right in front of you, becomes part of the evening’s rhythm. It is an Italian restaurant for the kind of dinners where you are in no hurry to move on.

Sharing menu of 11 courses

The big experience of the evening is the sharing menu: 11 courses served family-style at 595,- per person. You begin with 24-month Ruliano ham from Parma, burrata and arancini, move through homemade ravioli and mezze rigatoni with osso buco ragout, and round off with grilled rack of lamb and a semifreddo. The whole thing is meant to be shared, so the table tastes its way through it together. If you would like wine alongside, four glasses follow at 400,-, filtered water included.

Seasonal menu

If you would prefer something shorter, the seasonal menu is a four-course run at 350,- per person, put together by whatever is best right now. The ingredients change with the season, so the menu is rarely quite the same twice. Here too you can add a wine menu of three glasses on top.

À la carte and a late kitchen

If you would rather build the evening yourself, the full à la carte is open: antipasti, pasta and mains such as tagliata of grain-fed Angus and grilled tuna, plus desserts and cheese. At the weekend we have a late kitchen, so there is plenty of time for a grappa, a digestif or one more glass before you break up.
